Merry Christmas

Brrrr

We're definitely having a white Christmas at the farm this year. This was always reliably so, but in the past few years there were a few close calls with greenyness.

As pretty as things were with the ice storm passing through, I know many in the big smoke welcomed Christmas without power, and in such a cold snap. My thoughts are with them and I hope the spirit of the season gives them strength to endure.

Jesse, recently shorn, loves to play outside. These past few days, a brief outing to tend to business seems to suffice.

This Shetland Ram, named Seasonal, came running up to see me, as if to say - "where's the women at?". Being more sensible , they are in the barn.

Last night, this old shepherd was driving to church to sing with the choir in our Christmas Eve service. Make of it what you will, but there was a single star in the sky. Bright. And in the east.

Merry Christmas from me and Jesse.

  1. Merry Christmas, one day late! I hope you had a wonderful day, and that all is well with you and yours.

We ended up with freezing rain, and then we got 12" of ice pellets. You CANNOT even think about shoveling it, it's an attempt at futility. It looks like the week is going to get colder again. We had one morning of -31, and that's plenty cold for me.

Its getting hard to know what to expect from winter anymore. Other than the unexpected!
