Old Man River

I don't know about the rain in Spain, but the rain in Meaford has been unrelenting over the past two days.

And Old Man Winter has given way to Old Man River.

The little 'crick' in the front of the farm has swelled beyond what its banks (and by banks, I mean my driveway) can hold.

A few moments after I snapped this photo the river went right over the top....the culvert simply can't keep up with the run off of the torrential rains combined with the several feet of melting snow.

At least there are pleasant distractions.

GK1, who turned 13 two days ago, bonds with his cousin GK5, who will turn 1 month old two days hence.

Meanwhile, GK2 helps her cousin GK3 learn to play the little piano he received from Santa. Shortly after this photo, they gave a little concert and GK3 performed a few tunes he learned to plunk out....and sung along to boot.

Maybe he could fill in for his Grandpa at church tomorrow (since Grandpa was up at 4 a.m. to go to the farmers' market this morning and would REALLY like to sleep in)!
